Waterman 452 Fountain Pen - gothic pattern
The Waterman 452 Gothic pattern fountain pen is a vintage pen from the 1920’s featuring a sterling silver overlay on a hard rubber body. It is has an intricate "gothic" pattern (looks like a checkered effect) and is a sought-after collectible.
Description and characteristics
Nib: Correct Waterman 14k gold nib, size No. 2, with some flexibility.
Filling system: Lever-filling mechanism - with a sac that works
Size: This is the full size 452, with 452 stamped on the end of the barrel, not the smaller Waterman 452 1/2V.
Condition: Rather shiny and hard to photograph, this pen is in good vintage condition and the cartouche is not engraved. The pen is 100 years old, so there is some wear including the pattern on the barrel being present but not overly sharp in some areas (perhaps through over polishing in the past - not by me!), and some fading of the visible hard rubber section and barrel end. There is a small ding on the barrel, and a small bit of tarnish to the cap (at the time of writing - tarnish may naturally increase but can be easily removed).
