Platinum #3776 Ascending Dragon Kanazawa-Haku Gold Leaf Fountain Pen
A breathtaking fusion of masterful Japanese engineering and centuries-old artistry. The Platinum #3776 Century Ascending Dragon features authentic, hand-applied gold leaf using the traditional Kanazawa-Haku technique. This striking pen depicts an auspicious ascending dragon rising into the clouds—a classic motif representing prosperity and good fortune.
Because each piece of gold leaf is meticulously torn, folded, and applied by hand by master craftsmen, no two pens in this series are exactly alike.
Key Features
Design & Craftsmanship: Authentic Japanese gold leaf applied via the textured Momi Chirashitechnique, finished with a smooth, protective clear coating over the intricate dragon motif.
Nib: Smooth, in-house manufactured solid 14k gold Fine (F) nib, offering excellent precision and classic Japanese feedback.
Slip & Seal Mechanism: Equipped with Platinum’s patented spring-loaded cap liner. This innovative system keeps the nib wet and prevents ink evaporation for up to two years, even when left unused.
Filling System: Accepts proprietary Platinum ink cartridges or a standard Platinum converter for bottled ink usage. A converter is included.
Size & Weight: Based on the comfortable, ergonomic #3776 chassis. Measures approximately 140mm capped and weighs a well-balanced 18.8g.
Condition & Provenance
Condition: Pre-loved in reasonable condition. The pen shows some honest signs of handling and light surface micro-scratching from normal use, but the delicate gold leaf artwork and clear coat remain beautiful and intact. No cracks, deep gouges, or structural damage.
Includes: Comes complete with an original Platinum presentation box which sadly has been the victim of an ink stain! Please see pictures. Please note that the original paperwork is not included.
