Maruzen Streamline Fountain Pen

£98.99

Maruzen is a Japanese retailer established in 1869, who have had a long history of collaborating with established pen manufacturers including Onoto, Pelikan and Sailor.

This pen is the Maruzen Streamline fountain pen, which I believe is manufactured by pilot, and fitted with a wonderfully smooth and precise Pilot 14k medium nib.

The flat top design, with gold coloured trim including the band at the end of the barrel evokes the old Onoto designs, and it looks good. The pen measures just under 14.5cms when capped.

The 14k yellow gold nib is approx 1.9cms long, and is imprinted with the brand, 14k, M and what the internet tells me is a unique dragon design, although it takes imagination to see this! Research suggests this is a Pilot #5 nib.

The pen is a cartridge converter filler and comes fitted with a Pilot CON 70 converter, it also takes proprietary Pilot cartridges (not included).

The pen is in good overall condition, although there are minor signs of use present includingmicroscratches visible under bright light.
