First Generation Parker Duofold Centennial Blue Marble Fountain Pen
Parker Pens started selling the first generation of Parker Duofold Centennial fountain pens in 1988. In 1989, Parker introduced the slightly smaller (in length and girth) but equally high quality International model. The first generation was replaced by the second generation in 1996, the most noticeable difference being the change in cap bands from one thick and one thin to two thick cap rings. The modern Duofold range of pens are great quality, good value, and with a significant number of pleasing variants, are great to collect.
This Parker Duofold Centennial fountain pen in blue marble with gold trim is a first generation pen. Blue marble was one of the first colours introduced 1988, dating this pen from 1988-1996.
The pen is in reasonable used condition - there are micro scratches present, and a slightly deeper but very smaller scratch on the section - please ask if you want more photos.
The pen is a cartridge converter filler and is supplied with a proprietary Parker cartridge.
The nib is a fantastic 18k medium, although it is not marked as such. The cap finial is blank and correct.
