The pen has an 18k gold nib, which I think is medium in nib. It does give a bit of pencil like feedback for me, and is fairly soft - I notice the tines spread slightly with some gentle pressure.
It is a cartridge converter filler pen. The converter screws in (and this pen will likely take a Montblanc screw in converter), but the pen is not supplied with a converter. The pen will also accept standard international size cartridges.
