This magnificent Cross Townsend fountain pen looks fabulous! it is a time limited pen produced in 1997 according to the product history section of the Cross website.
It is a wonderful jade green (actual jade was used in the manufacture) infused with 22k gold flakes, overlayed with lacquer and adorned with rolled gold trim. It has the Chinese symbol for jade in gold lacquer above the clip.
The pen is a cartridge converter filler and will be supplied with 2 cross proprietary cartridges. The pen is fairly weighty in hand but not unpleasantly so. The nib is a smooth writing 18k yellow and white gold medium width.
Given the pen’s age it is not surprising to find some minor signs of use, including micro scratches. There is some wear to the yellow ring just above the nib, around the bottom of the cap ring and the small ring at the top of the barrel. It is not in my view significant. There are quite a lot of reflections in the photographs. Please do not hesitate to ask questions or request more photographs if you have any queries regarding condition.
